via kaylee koenig I love a good smokey eye, but I see no reason for it to be relegated to the “special occasions” makeup closet. It looks good on everyone, and the best part is that it doesn’t have to be perfect. In fact, the more you buff & smudge & blend, the better! with tegan colton The following is a tutorial on how to do an everyday smokey eye — it’s done with brown instead of black so you don’t have to fear looking too “made up”! If you have dark skin, I’d choose a shade of dark gray or charcoal instead of black to get the same look.

Oh & also, this is my sister. Isn’t she just gorgeous? She’s my model in the tutorial below. love ya, sis!

  1. Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original
  2. Smashbox Digital eyeshadow palette
  3. Sonia Kashuk Dramatically Defining gel liner in Cocoa
  4. Kat Von D True Romance eyeshadow palette in Beethoven – color “Leather”
  5. Buxom mascara
  6. Smashbox Lip Enhancing gloss in Radiant

note: although I use mostly mid-range-priced products, this look could easily be achieved with less expensive makeup as well. Just make sure your eyes have a good water-resistant base (you could even use this Rimmel ScandalEyes 24hr eyeshadow stick in Bulletproof Beige – it’s $4.49!) and blend, blend, blend!

Let me know what you think and PLEASE shoot me ideas for my next tutorial!
